Product Description:

RGS is a root growth stimulant with sea kelp and humic acid is our primary bio-stimulant offering for use in lawns and landscapes. Formulated by John Perry of Greene County Fertilizer Co, RGS is the foundation of all Lawn Care Nut and Yard Mastery programs.

If you are new to spraying liquids on your lawn, this is a great one to start with. It won't "burn" the lawn, or anything like that - and RGS is the best to start with anyway since it aids in soil health and stimulates roots in turf.

If you have challenges with your grass holding on during summer heat, getting RGS into the soil will help it through the stress. RGS is truly the backbone of the bio-stimulant program, hands down, and has the highest concentration of sea kelp hormones in the line. It was designed to increase rooting and decrease stress pressure caused by heat and drought. It will also feed microbial life in the soil which helps to optimize your fertilizer treatments.

"N-Ext" is the name of this line of products, and N-Ext stands for "Nitrogen Extension." RGS, Root Growth Stimulant, is kind of like the "base layer" of that line because it contains humic acid and sea kelp, the two primary bio-stimulants we recommend. The biologically active material contains humic acid and sea kelp to aid in initial spring green-up, buffer and extend nitrogen release rates, and add oxygen to the soil profile for greater nutrient uptake.

Application Information:

You will need to water in RGS if you apply with a backpack/pump sprayer. If you are using a quart hose-end sprayer, here is a video with instructions.

RGS can be applied at any time during the growing season on all grass types, including the following:

Cool-Season Lawns - Kentucky Bluegrass, Turf Type Tall Fescue (all fescues), Ryegrass.
Warm-Season Lawns - Bermuda, St Augustine, Zoysia, Centipede, Bahia.

Application Details

Mix 3 oz- 6 oz per gallon of water in a backpack/pump sprayer and spray that evenly across 1,000 sq ft of lawn.

Water-In Instructions

Water into the soil within 24 hours with 1/4" of rainfall or irrigation.

Do not apply if your lawn is saturated. Rinse excess off sidewalks and driveways to avoid staining.

Last summer Ohio got hit with no rain for almost much of the summer. This product kept my lawn green with some watering. But to much credit I was able to space out the waterings. Hands down is a must for anyone that’s a lawn nut and goes through warm / dry summers.

Great Results!

I started the bio stim pack last June, and I saw immediate results. Specifically less summer stress. But the RGS was a standout. I ended up ordering an additional gallon, a gave the lawn 3oz / 1000 sq ft up until the lawn went dormant. To my eyes, the grass looked stronger. I swear by the bio stim pack, but RGS makes me smile!

Grass So Green & Thick ..You’ll want to roll it up and smoke it

The product is incredible at creating a lawn that is lush, thick, and full. Results are absolutely apparent after use during one growing season. Any area that is thin and diseased, just add this once a month for a full growing season and it will be like a whole new lawn! Warning - secret weapon for lawn domination!

How long after an application do I need to wait before my kid can play in the grass? Does the same time apply to applying Four Play? Thanks.

Hello! The key with most lawn products, including RGS, is to wait until the lawn is dry again after applying your products and watering them into the turf. This also ensures that the product doesn't stick to any paws or shoes, as it can get tracked into the house and cause staining. We recommend applying products after people and pets are inside for the night, watering it in, and by the following morning, the product will be down into the soil. Applying to your backyard and front yard could be done on different days to make this simpler to manage.

Hello, do I have to water in RGS & Micro Greene? I’m using a hose end sprayer . Also I noticed the hose end sprayer doesn’t disperse the last 1/3rd of the product. Is this typical? Thank you.

Hello! Thanks for reaching out. If you are using a hose-end sprayer, you don't technically have to water RGS and MicroGreene in, however, we still recommend it to make sure the product gets down into your soil and starts to get to work. Your hose end sprayer should pull everything up. If it is not the remaining mixture may be too thick. Make sure you are shaking that spray every once in a while during spraying so the thicker nutrients don't settle at the bottom. We recommend only adding enough product for 2,000 sq ft at a time and filling the rest of the sprayer with water to keep the mixture thin. You can always add extra water to your remaining third to help get that to spray. Thanks!
