Product Description:
GreeneStart Multipurpose Fertilizer is a complete product for all types of lawn and garden applications. It's got a little bit of everything you need, including the following:

  • 9% nitrogen for a nice green color without pushing top growth
  • 1% available potash to help lawns in stress
  • 1.5% iron for a nice green pop

It also contains 8% humic acid as a carbon source and chelator, as well as 1% sea kelp as a microbe stimulant. That's why we call it a "complete" product because it contains fertilizing nutrients as well as bio-stimulants sea kelp and humic, all in one mix!

For Seeding
GreeneStart will provide excellent germination rates of seeds without risk of burning the seeds and it can bring about quick rooting of new turf seedlings. It is the best product available for both re-seeding and over-seeding all types of turf grass.
For Drought Stress
With lawns suffering from drought stress, this product will establish significant root mass and depth (drought resistance) as well as stimulate considerable soil activity, which will improve soil fertility.

  • For cool-season grass varieties, it is a recommended product for non-irrigated lawns during periods of drought stress.
  • For warm-season grass varieties, it is a recommended product for lawns where poor soil fertility is inhibiting plant health and nutrient uptake.
  • 9-0-1 is recommended for soil (non-foliar) applications on established plants, shrubs, and trees.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 9-0-1 GreeneStart fertilizer, and what is it used for?
9-0-1 GreeneStart™ is a multipurpose liquid fertilizer designed for seeding, overseeding, new sod, drought-stressed lawns, and low-nitrogen spoon-feeding. Its 9-0-1 analysis includes nitrogen, potash, iron, humic acid, and sea kelp to support turf color, root development, and soil activity.

How do I apply GreeneStart fertilizer to my lawn?
For backpack or pump sprayer applications, mix 16 ounces of GreeneStart per 2 gallons of water and spray evenly over 1,000 square feet. The 16-ounce rate covers up to approximately 8,000 square feet per gallon. Water GreeneStart into the soil within 24 hours with approximately ¼ inch of rainfall or irrigation. Do not apply to a saturated lawn, and rinse any product from sidewalks and driveways to help prevent staining.

Can GreeneStart be used for overseeding, seeding, and new sod?
Yes. GreeneStart can be applied directly to seed or to bare soil before installing sod. It is formulated to support seed germination and help new turf seedlings develop roots.

How often can GreeneStart be applied to the lawn?
For established lawns, GreeneStart is typically applied every 30 to 45 days during the growing season. It can be used on cool-season grasses such as Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, and ryegrass, as well as warm-season grasses including Bermuda, St. Augustine, zoysia, centipede, and Bahia. Application timing and rates may vary based on grass type, weather, and lawn conditions. Always read and follow the current product label.
